We have an English Bible Study which meets on The 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at Koga Church after lunch from 1:00 to 2:00. The group is for anybody, Christian or not, who would like to study the Bible in English. Our study time focuses on a short Bible passage and we look at:
What the passage says - Overcoming language problems by discussing the meanings of difficult words and of the overall text. What the passage means - Understanding what the text is telling us. How the passage applies to our lives - What good changes to our lives can we make as a result of studying the passage. We are currently studying the Gospel of John and expect to be doing so for at least another year or two! The group is open to anybody and if you would like to attend please contact us. |

In 2006 we started a Tuesday evening Bible Club together with Kudo Yoshito, the principal of Kobato Nursery School. The purpose was to provide Bible teaching for young boys and girls who play Baseball on Sundays and cannot attend Sunday School or Church. The club now meets in The James' house almost every Tuesday evening of the year from 6:30 to 7:30. We have a song of praise to God, a Bible memory verse time, a game, a Bible message, a worksheet related to the message, prizes and end with a time of snacks and drinks. The club is attended principally by elementary age children and occasionally by our Junior High School 'graduates'. We are currently thinking about what we can do for Junior High School students who become very busy with club activities and no longer attend regularly. This club is open to all and if you would like to come please get in touch!

Every year we take groups of boys and girls to Matsubarako Bible Camp in the beautiful Nagano countryside. The camps are for three nights and four days and are in two locations:
Base Camp This is the main site and there is accommodation for about 120 boys and girls in cabins dotted around the dining hall and chapel buildings. There are always gifted Bible teachers to teach the Bible in a way which is interesting and relevant to children during the main meetings. In addition, group leaders lead the smaller Bible study times. The food is great, the scenery is wonderful and the children enjoy hiking, games, cooking 'yaki soba' outside and a campfire on the last night. Out Camp This is a favorite with all the older boys and girls. The site is in the woods across a river from the main site and accommodates about 40 boys and girls in tents. They really live in the wild, cooking all their own food and enjoying outdoor activities such as archery and a climbing wall together with other sports and craft activities. They have excellent Bible teaching too, with illustrations drawn from their outdoor pursuits such as sin being likened to missing the mark in archery and the need for encouragement and teamwork in the Christian life being being illustrated through helpfully cheering for friends to get to the top of the climbing wall! The camps are open to anyone of Elementary, Junior high School or High School age, and if you are interested please contact us. |
